Day 01 Arrive in Lhasa

Arrive in Lhasa. Meet and check into the hotel

Day 02 Lhasa (B, L, D)

Tour starts from the religious Potala Palace built in the 7th century by the famous Tibetan king-Songtzen Gampo. After that, you will visit Norbulingka Park. In 1752, the 7th Dalai Lama built the first palace here for successive Dalai Lamas to carry out their political and religious activities during the summer season. Today Norbulingka has become a public park for picnicking, relaxing and entertainment. Continue to visit Sera Monastery. Sera means "Hailstone" in Tibetan, and legend tells that it hailed during the foundation of this famous monastery.

Day 03 Lhasa (B, L, D)

Full day sightseeing takes you to Drepung Monastery. "Drepung" in Tibetan means "the hill of rice", because this white Monastery looks like a big hill of rice. This monastery occupies an area of 150,000 square meters with 7700 lamas and becomes the largest monastery in Asia. After having a Tibet-style lunch, you will visit Jokhang Temple, situated in the old section of Lhasa. King Songtzen Gampo built this temple in the mid-7th century A.D. Now it is the most sacred place in Tibet. Then spend your leisure time at the Bakhor Street, the most famous local open market.

Day 04 Lhasa / Nakchu (B, L, D)

Today you will travel from Lhasa to Nakchu by bus, where the grand Nakchu Horse Racing Festival is on!

The Horse Racing Festival at Nakchu is a very typical festival as well as the grandest one in Northern Tibet. When the day comes, the nomad people would gather in Nakchu, grandly dressed to celebrate the festival. Games like horse racing, yak racing, wrestling, stone lifting, arrow shooting on horse back, etc. will be held. It is also a good chance for nomad people to communicate with each other and trade things. Young people may also find their Mr./Miss Bright!

Day 05 Nakchu / Lhasa (B, L, D)

Spend some time in Nakchu before you travel back to Lhasa by bus. Upon arrival in Lhasa, enjoy your free time.

Day 06 Lhasa Departure (B)

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Service ends.
