Set just off the busy Nanjing Road East (a major shopping thoroughfare), Shanghai Central Hotel sits gleaming and sparkling. One particular good thing about this hotel is that it feels more 'Chinese' than say some of the other larger European properties close by, which is good to people seeking different experience in China.

There is a business center, a grand ballroom, nine Chinese-style banquet halls, six Western-style banquet halls and an auditorium room. Within easy reach of People's Square and Shanghai Museum as well as the Bund this hotel is on a prime location if you intend to see Shanghai by foot.

Location

Just over halfway along the Nanjing road and one block back from the Peoples Square, the Shanghai Central Hotel is just off one of the most bustling parts of Shanghai downtown area. From the hotel, it is about 15km (or 20 minutes drive) to Hongqiao International Airport, 40km (or 45 minutes) to Pudong International Airport. The city subway has a stop (He Nan Road Station) in the neighborhood.

There are 319 rooms and suites in Shanghai Central Hotel. Hotel rooms are very clean and pleasant, offering huge bed and all you need amenities in the room. Some people may find bed is a little hard for western taste but this is probably how Chinese prefer beds in China. In the middle of the city's business shopping area, most of the rooms would have great views over the neon-lit shopping area at night.
