Fan Pagoda Picture

Originally built in 977AD, the courtyard-like Fan Pagoda is the oldest construction of Kaifeng.  It consists of five buildings, three stories each: the East, the West, the South, the North and the Center. The largest recreation center so far in Kaifeng, it has food, recreation and shopping facilities.

As a famous scenic spot of Buddhism, poems and articles left by famous people are everywhere in the pagoda. Among them, the poem wrote by Su Shunqing, a famous poet of Northern Song Dynasty, called Deng Fan Ta Shi is the most famous. It described the giant and beauty of the pagoda with vivid sentences.
