Kaihua Temple is a renowned Buddhist Temple, located 17 kilometers northeast of Gaoping City. Founded in Later Tang and Five Dynasties (AD 923- 926 years), Kaihua Temple was first named as Qingliang Temple. After the construction of the Great Buddha Hall in Northern Song Dynasty (AD 1073), it changed name to Kaihua Temple. The most valuable building of Kaihua Temple is the Great Buddha Hall.
