Known as the symbol of Yan An city, the sacred place of Chinese revolution led by Chairman Mao, the Pagoda Hill is located along the Yanhe River. The hill is 1,076.3 meters above the sea level and was given the present name after the pagoda was built on top of it. The pavilion-style pagoda, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), is 44 meters high with nine stories. You can get to the top but the brick pagoda is quite a climb. There is also a large iron bell which was cast in the Ming dynasty. Standing on top of this majestic pagoda, you can have a bird view upon the entire Yan An city…
