Tong Li

Tongli is a town on the outskirts of Suzhou, known for a system of canals, it has been given the nickname "Venice of the East". There are several museums in Tongli. There is a wax museum describing the culture of China in the ancient days, about marriage, the dynasties and others. In 2004, Tongli together with Luzhi and Zhouzhuang were listed in the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
