Lijiang Hiking Tour

Day 01 Lijiang (D)

Arrive in Lijiang. Meet and transfer to the four-star Lijiang Old Town Impression Hotel. Explore the Old Town followed by the welcome dinner in the local restaurant.

Day 02 Lijiang / Wenhai Lake (B, L, D)

After breakfast, take car to one of the small Naxi villages at the base of the mountains. Rest for a while and start hiking to Wenhai Lake. Pass through a pass of 'Yulung Shan', which offers spectacular views of the Upper Lijiang Plain, including the local villages, crops, unique floral diversity, and the surrounding mountains. You will trek between 2500 m and 3100m above sea level. En route, enjoy a picnic lunch. Arrive in Wenhai and explore the village and take in the magnificent views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Overnight at the Eco-lodge. At night you will enjoy a local dinner prepared by a Naxi family. All the produces are from the local farms and very fresh. The food are tasteful.

The Wenhai Eco-lodge has been built with the support of the Nature Conservancy as a community-based tourism initiative. The Eco-lodge has been owned and managed by the inhabitants of Wenhai since its creation. At present, there are eleven bedrooms, each having between one and four beds.  Because the water at the Eco-lodge is heated by a solar panel we are not always ensured a hot shower; however, this lodge offers a rustic experience that allows for intimate interactions with the Naxi people and an introduction to the local culture of the area.

Day 03 Wenhai Lake / Lashihai Lake (B, L, D)

In the morning, you will have a traditional Chinese breakfast with local bread, honey, eggs, potatoes, and tea. Then start the trekking and enjoy the most beautiful scenery of mountains, forests, villages, and lakes. Overnight accommodation is at a local Naxi home. This lovely traditional Naxi house has five rooms and a hot shower. The family will cook special dishes with the produces grown in the gardens near the houses.

Day 04 Lashihai Lake / Lijiang (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will bike and hike around Lashihai Lake to visit some smaller villages to experience lives and customs of local people. You will also visit a small Tibetan Buddhism Temple and share the tea with the Lamas. Also, you can also enjoy boat trips on the lake and see how local fishermen are fishing. This special hiking tour offers a chance to learn about the history of the lake and its importance to the local people. Then you will come back to Lijiang by private car in the late afternoon.

Day 05 Lijiang (B)

After breakfast transfer to the airport or the train station to depart.
