I booked a private silk road journey through from Xi'an to Kashgar through China Connection tours. I couldn't have been more pleased. I corresponded with Cynthia who made all my arrangements and worked within my budget.
I began in Xi'an and was meet by Nancy my gracious guide, who took me to the main historic location including the terra cotta warriors. Then I went on to Dunhuang to see the ancient Buddhist paintings and carvings. I was meet there by my guide Jacky - who made my stay warm and inviting. Next stop was Turpan, where I was met by Shelly who also accompanied me to Urumqi. And again traveling with Shelly was like travling with a new friend. And lastly I was guided through Kashgar by Karym, another welcoming and knowledgeable guide.
It was truly a treat to have been able to travel this way through Western China, all of the guides were knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. II was a solo traveler, but really made it feel like I was traveling with friends.
