Huashi Building

Huashi Building of QingdaoBuilt in 1903 by a German governor as a hunting and fishing villa, this hulk of a building spices Qingdao's landscape with a touch of Bavaria. Huashi Building located along the eastern stretches of Beach No. 2, it combines Roman and Gothic architectural styles so as to resemble a low-budget castle. It is yet another masterpiece of Qingdao's collection of European style architecture. It costs 4,321,065 ounces of silver at that time to build the German palace. The structure's tower furnishes postcard views of Taiping Bay. Thick stands of pine trees and various kinds of flowers are covering every corner of its 3000 square meters.

Originally it was the German governors villa for fishing, hunting and relaxing. Now it serves as a guesthouse for tourists from both home and abroad.
