Kaiping Tour

Pick up at your Guangzhou hotel lobby and drive to Kaiping. You will visit the famous Kaiping Diaolou in Zili Village. Diaolou, multi-storied defensive village houses in Kaiping, which display a complex and flamboyant fusion of Chinese and Western structural and decorative forms. They reflect the significant role of émigré Kaiping people in the development of several countries in South Asia, Australasia and North America, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You will also visit the Li Garden built in 1936 by a Chinese emigrant to the United States. It demonstrates the fusion of western and Chinese designs, and the gardens flourish with a variety of flora, including the Chinese red bud, kapok, cypress and other precious flowers and plants. This exquisite combination of architecture and wildlife makes Li Garden both idyllic and panoramic. In the afternoon, visit the Chikan ancient town, a home to some of the first Chinese nationals to find employment overseas – and who brought back foreign architectural styles. Strolling on the town’s ancient streets, tourists will feel themselves being transported back in time, into an exotic place that could almost be oceans away. Then drive back to Guangzhou and services ends.
