Meet your guide at the hotel and travel to the Western Hills where Taoist temples and Buddhism Temples could be found. Ascend the mountain by cable care. A very beautiful lake view of the Dianchi Lake comes into your eyes if being on the top of the Hills Dragon Gate. On the way down, visit the Huating Temple that has 500 sculptures of disciples of the Buddha. If time permits, you will also pay a visit to the Yuantong Temple, the grandest and most active temple in Kunming with a history of more than 1200 years.
Day 2 Kunming
A full day excursion takes you to the Stone Forest, one of the natural wonders of the area. The majestic and peculiar rocks in myriad forms seem rising above the ground and create a forest made of stone. It is one of the most famous karst landform attractions globally and has been hailed by international karst research experts as a "Natural Museum of Sculptural Landforms." The Stone Forest also serves as an important venue for local ethnic Yi People to celebrate the Torch Festival in memory of a legendary beautiful girl who sacrificed herself to love.
