Bingling Temple Tour

Arise early and drive to Bingling Temple which is located in Yongjing County, southwest of Lanzhou city. Upon arrival, visit Liujiaxia Reservoir and take one hour boat ride to Bingling Temple. Bingling Temple Caves, also known as Thousand Buddha Caves, have 183 grottoes filled with 679 stone figures and 82 clay figures carved into natural caves and caverns in a canyon along the Yellow River. Bingling Temple Caves are mainly made up of the upper temple, the lower temple and the caves in between. The distinctive features set it apart from Mogao Buddhism Grottoes and other famous caves are its earliest unequivocal date for the construction of one of the caves, 420ce, and its unique artistic style combining Han Chinese and Tibetan Buddhist traditions. You can tour around by taking the stairs and the wooden plank road built along the cliffs. After the visit, travel back to Lanzhou and service completes.
