The trip went very well; thank you.
As I had mentioned to you, Nee Sha is an excellent guide. The driver, Mr Wang, is also very good. I would rate both of them 9 out of 10. As it turns out, A Dee is also a good guide and would rate him about 7.5 to 8 out of 10. The driver, Ekbar (not sure if spelling is correct) is excellent (rate him 9 out of 10). My husband and I told him that if he starts to learn English, he has the potential to become an excellent guide. He’s very knowledgeable and always on the look-out for unusual sights. But his current handicap in English is a setback for him. He told us he is going to take up an English. Course in BJ this winter. We wish him the best.
Overall, we enjoyed the trip very much with 2 minor changes ie if we had to do the trip all over again, we will give KumTagh desert and GaoChang a miss. The visit to KumTagh was not really interesting; too many artificial stone/sand carvings. Gaochang was ok but Jiaohe was far more interesting. We would have replaced KumTagh with a visit to the Tuyog village instead.
