The Terracotta Warriors are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. There are more than 8,000 life-size Terra-cotta soldiers and horses excavated from this area which all displayed in the practical battle formation in 3 pits respectively. No. 1 Pit is the largest, first opened to the public on China National Day, 1979. There are columns of soldiers at the front, followed by war chariots at the back. No. 2 Pit was founded in the year 1976, it contains a thousand warriors and 90 chariots of wood. No.3 pit has more than 7,000 pottery soldiers, horses, chariots, and even weapons.
