Yangzhou Transportation

Yangzhou is easily accessible from many major cities in China. A bus journey from Shanghai takes about 3.5 hours, from Suzhou about 2.5 hours and from Nanjing about 1 hour. A railway line also connects Yangzhou with other cities. If you arrive in Yangzhou from Shanghai or Suzhou, you will cross the 3,740-meter-long Jiangyin Changjiao Daqiao, the longest bridge over the Yangtze River.

By Air

The Nanjing Lukou International Airport is over 100 km away, and it takes one hour and 40 minutes to get there. Over 10 airline ticket offices in the city provide convenient service for foreign and domestic tourists.

By Water

Yangzhou harbor, 11.5 km away from the city center, is located at the junction of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal and the Yangtze River. It has developed into a comprehensive harbor, integrating passenger, freight, container transportation and harbor trade, and has become the main distribution center of northern Jiangsu Province, eastern Anhui Province and southeast Shandong Province. Passenger routes reach Nanjing, Wuhu, Jiujiang, Huangshi and Wuhan in the north, and Nantong and Shanghai in the south. Some well-known luxury international liners also anchor here.

In the City

City transport is convenient; most public buses run from 06:00 to 18:00. Taxis start at 7 RMB and cost around 10 RMB to any scenery spot within the city. Also, renting a bicycle is a very convenient and enjoyable way to see the city.
