Today, you will visit the Black Dragon Pool, and the Dongba Culture Exhibition Museum, which represents the Dongba Pictographic Characters and Naxi Minorities mysterious Culture, some of which still use the matriarchal social system up till today. Late afternoon, tour the Ancient Town of Dayan, a World Heritage Site in China recognized by the United Nations in 1999. Around 800-years ago, it became an important caravan stop of the ancient Tea and Horse Trail. Within the town, cobblestone streets are flanked by the water channels, wooden houses with tiled roofs are intricately built, many stone bridges astride across the water from the snow-capped mountains. Not only it is a world cultural heritage site but also a vibrant and living city where traditional Naxi culture is still well preserved.
