At noon, you will visit the Surging Wave Pavilion, the oldest garden in Suzhou. The Surging Wave Pavilion has a style of its own among all the gardens in Suzhou. Instead of being surrounded by tall walls and keeping its own scenery within the garden, there is a crystal-clear pond decorated with winding corridors, old trees and piling lakeside rocks outside the garden. Visitors see the beautiful scenery even before entering the garden. Then visit Master of Fishing Net Garden, the finest gardens in China. Recognized with nine other Suzhou gardens as United Nations World Heritage sites, it demonstrates Chinese garden designers’ adept skills for synthesizing art, nature, and architecture to create unique metaphysical masterpieces. While the initial garden was first constructed over 800 years ago and its physical form has changed drastically since, the name and spirit of the garden remain intact. At end, visit Guanqian Street, a 1,500-year-old pedestrian street with Ming-Qing architectures. Stroll along the street, enjoy shopping and Suzhou style snacks.
