Schedule Description:

Pick you up your hotel in the morning. A full day excursion to the Forbidden City, it is the world's largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. Built between 1406 and 1420, the Forbidden City was the home of the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties, a period extending over 500 years. After lunch at carefully selected local restaurant, you will continue to visit the Temple of Heaven, where Chinese emperors used to pray the good harvest and the Summer Palace, the best preserved and the second largest royal garden in China, with a history of over 800 years. In 1998, it was listed as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Forbidden City -- Also known as the Palace Museum, there are twenty-four emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties lived in the Forbidden City, which got its name because it was off-limits to ordinary citizens and is the biggest and best-preserved cluster of ancient buildings in China. On the grounds are six palaces and 800 smaller buildings, containing more than 9,000 rooms and halls, and hundreds of gardens. Most of the buildings are post-18th century.

Summer Palace -- The Summer Palace with its cool features - water, gardens and hills - was the palace of choice for vacationing emperors and Dowager Empresses during the summer time.
