7-Day China Beijing Shanghai Tour Tour Features: This private tour brings you around China's two greatest cities, Beijing and Shanghai. In Beijing, enjoy the classic tourist hotspots like the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. In Shanghai, you will get a brief introduction to the city through some museums and major tourist sites and enjoy its many shopping opportunities. You will also enjoy an experience of the 5-6hrs high-speed train from Beijing to Shanghai.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Beijing

Arrive at Beijing, the capital of China. Clear the immigration & customs and pick up your luggage, which may take about 60mins. Be greeted at the exit of luggage claim area by the private guide holding a sign.
Be transferred about 60mins to hotel for check in. Free & easy day for your to adjust the jetlag.
Overnight in Beijing.

Day 02 Beijing (B, L)

0630-0900 breakfast at hotel.
0900-1700 full day tour as follows:
Today’s tour starts at northern part of Tian'anmen Square. Seeing the Tian’anmen Rostrum, it is the symbol of new China. You could see two pairs of 600 years old stone lions, the ornamental columns, the outer golden water bridge and so on. Besides, having chance to view all constructions from distance. Such as the National Flag Pole, the Monument to the People's Hero, the Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, the Great Hall of People, and the National Museum. From there you will proceed to the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years history in the world. Visit the Forbidden City along the central axis from south to north for about 2 hours.

After lunch, you'll visit the Temple of Heaven -- the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world where the ancient Emperors prayed for peace and harvest. After that, a short visit to a pearl free market not missed. You will enjoy a peaceful time by walking through the old backstreets, also called Hutongs, to touch the local life. There are also a lot of bars and nice restaurants where you can take a short break. There is also rickshaw available in the Hutongs for your own interest (your own cost). Back to hotel.

Day 03 Beijing (B, L)

0630-0800 breakfast at hotel.
0800-1700 full day tour as follows:
The highlight today is to conquer the Badaling Great Wall, a symbol of the Chinese ancient civilization. Upon arriving at the Great Wall, you can either take cable car uphill or hike along the stairs on the wall(cable car is not included, you can choose based on your own interests). You may spend 2-3 hours on the symbol of the Chinese ancient civilization. You will also have 45 minutes for a short visit of Jade Carving Factory. The jade carving is a famous special Chinese product, a blend of the excellent skill on carving and Chinese traditional cultures. In the afternoon drive back to city and stop by the Olympic venues, which are more often to be known as Bird Nest and Water Cube. You can take some photos outside. Following is a visit to the Summer Palace, a summer resort for Empress Dowager Ci Xi. Back to hotel.

Day 04 Beijing/Shanghai by fast train (about 5-6hrs) (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Free morning for relaxing.
Pickup by driver from your hotel and transfer to Beijing South Train Station for the high speed train to Shanghai. You will arrive at Shanghai Hongqiao Train Station. Collect your luggage, disembark the train and follow the exit signs out of the station. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel for check in.

Day 05 Shanghai (B, L)

0630-0800 breakfast at hotel.
0830-1730 full day tour as follows:
After breakfast at hotel, you will visit the Yuyuan Garden for a taste of old Shanghai, Ming style gardens, with pavilions, streams, and pools. Don't miss the huge Dragon Wall (the dragon is protecting the garden), red fish swimming in the Lotus Pool, or the zig-zag Bridge of Nine Turns – the zig-zags foil the demons (who don't turn corners very well). Then you will visit Old City area, there is a local market where you can buy silk umbrellas, calligraphy, Chinese toys, paper dragons, embroidery. Followed by a free time at Xintiandi Area that combines the old and new looks of Shanghai. Then you will enjoy a leisure stroll through the bustle and hustle Nanjing Road and then enjoy a walk tour through the Bund lined with exotic building clusters at the west bank of the Huangpu River. You can watch the ships go by on the river, boats large and small, barges and ferries (there are telescopes for closer views). Just imagine the Bund a century ago, teeming with junks and sampans, loading and unloading at the wharves. On the east bank of Huangpu River is Lujiazui financial center of Pudong Area. There are many world famous skyscrapers like the Oriental TV Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jin Mao Tower, etc. You may pay a visit to them (entrance tickets at your own). Back to hotel.

Day 06 Shanghai (B)

Free day at your own exploration in Shanghai.
Overnight in Beijing.

Day 07 Shanghai departure (B)

Transfer to airport by driver and board your departure flight. Service completes.
