Chongqing Transportation

Air

Besides the numerous air connections with domestic cities, the city also has links with international destinations. The Jiangbei International Airport is 21km from the city center and is accessible from the city via expressway. From Chongqing, you can reach most major cities. Taxi fare is RMB150 and the trip takes about 45 minutes.

Train

The city is linked by the national railway system. It is very convenient to travel to and from Chongqing by train. The Chongqing train station is located in the center of the city.

Bus

Chongqing has a sound road system and it is convenient to get to Chongqing from Chengdu that is around 450km away. The two cities have expressways linking them and it costs RMB150 and takes 4-5 hours for the trip.

Boat

Dozens of ports and passenger and freight docks have been established along the Yangtze Riverto facilitate water transportation from Chongqing to Shanghai and even to overseas countries.

Taxi

The starting fare for Chongqing taxis, for the first 3km is RMB8 and it is quite possible to get to any place in town for RMB20 by taxi.
