Until 1950, Pipashan Park was a private garden. From the Red Star Pavilion at the top of the hill in Loquat Hill Park -- the highest point in the city of Chongqing -- one can get a bird's-eye view of the whole town and of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers below. The view of Chongqing, the mountainous city, is most attractive at night.
