Pick up at your hotel in the morning and travel to the Yungang Grottoes. Reputed as one of the three most famous Buddhist grottoes in China, it is a treasure trove of Buddhist carvings unrivaled in the world with a variety of more than 51,000 statues. The unique mix of culture and artistic styles, especially a fusion of Buddhist art from India, architectural style from Greece and decoration motifs from Persia with Chinese culture set them apart from other grottoes in China. Continue the visit to the Nine Dragon Screen that probably is the largest of its kind in China. Then enjoy a visit to the Huayan Monastery which is considered to be one of the two biggest Buddhist halls existent in China. Built by nomadic Khitan people around 1200 years, it showcases unique artistic and architectural style. Sculptures with cursive figures, elaborate decorations, elegant and grace facial expressions, demonstrate innate characters combining deity and secularity. We boked directly from Portugal with China Connection Tours (CCT) a 22 day tour in China for a private group of 6 people. We have done an excellent couple private tour with china connection tours throughout Beijing-Xian-Chengdu-Fenghuang-Zanghjiajie-Shanghai. The tour was very well organized, good price, very good hotels. The time was well balanced, no time was lost. Guides was very expert and available to every our request and they proposed us to add some other activities over the program, this was very much appreciated. They also suggested us good restaurants. We mention of course Thomas, Susan, Donald and Ayli. The main referent Candy Liu was so kind and available to build the tour before leaving and also during the trip to improve it as much as possible.
