Suzhou Transportation

By Air

Suzhou Airport is located 22 kilometers southwest of the city proper. Because the Shanghai International Airport is only 86km away from Suzhou, most travelers to Suzhou come and leave the area from the Shanghai Airport.

By Train

Located in the northern part of the city, the Suzhou Railway Station is a first-class station. Everyday, it has 92 passenger trains coming to and leaving from here with one train every 15 minutes. Two air-conditioned tourist trains run daily between Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai.

By Taxi

Taxis are everywhere and metered. Generally most taxis charge a starting fee of RMB10 during the day and RMB11 at night, with RMB1.8 for each additional 1km.

By Bicycle

Traveling by bicycle in Suzhou is convenient and pleasant. Many bike rental places near the train station offer bikes of all sizes. You can get bicycle at most of the local hotels. It costs RMB15-30 per day with the deposit RMB200-300.
