The Chengdu Train Station is situated at the northernmost end of Renmin Bei Road. Chengdu is the largest railway hub in Southeast China. There are direct trains to Beijing, Taiyuan, Guangzhou, Nanjing and other cities. There are several tourism express trains within Sichuan province including Guang-Yuan, Yi-Bin and Panzhihua.

Taxis are everywhere and metered. Generally most taxis charge a base fee of RMB5 during the day and RMB6 at night, with RMB1 for each additional 1.3km.

Because Chengdu is flat, most locals get around by bicycle. Riding is easy, fast, and convenient. Bicycles can be rented at most Hotels (RMB10 per day plus RMB400 deposit).
