Chengde Travel

Chengde, northeast of Beijing, is a small city of Hebei province and best known as the site of the Mountain Resort, a vast imperial garden formerly used by the emperors of the Qing Dynasty in summer time. The constructions of this summer resort exploited mountains, timbers and other existing natural features to which they added contrived landscapes to make settings for innumerable pavilions, palaces and temples. And outside the summer resort are 11 monasteries built in Tibetan style under the order of Qing Kangxi Emperor about 500 years ago. Both the resort and the monasteries are the masterpieces of Qing dynasty constructions. Today they are on the list of World Heritage of UNESCO and the must-sees for visitors who travel Chengde.
