Wuxi Transportation

By Air

Wuxi Airport is located about 25 km outside the city, but it only serves a very limited number of destinations. It is accessible only by taxi (approx. 50 RMB). Most overseas tourists to Wuxi arrive and depart the area from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport because it is only 120 km away from Wuxi.

By Train

Wuxi Railway Station is located on E. Tonghu Rd. It is one of the largest railway stations in the Yangtze River Delta, with tourist trains to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing.

By Boat

Although Wuxi is rich with waterways, it does not serve as the main transportation hub any more. The Wuxi Shipping Terminal is located a few hundred meters southwest of Liangxi Bridge and is mainly responsible for the water traffic between Wuxi and Hangzhou.

By Taxi

Cabs in Wuxi generally cost 8 RMB for the first 2 km. Each additional km is 1.4-1.8 RMB.

By Bicycle

Traveling by bicycle in Wuxi is very convenient and pleasant. There are many bike rental shops near the train station that offer bikes of all sizes. Bicycle rental costs 15-30 RMB per day with a deposit of 200-300 RMB.
